WHAT IS HALIFAX DESIGN WEEK
Halifax Design Week is a city-wide celebration bringing together designers, creators, students, professionals, businesses, and curious minds from across disciplines. Through exhibitions, workshops, talks, and interactive experiences, Halifax Design Week explores how design connects people, technology, culture, business, and everyday life, from emerging technologies and sustainable solutions to products, architecture, accessibility, and new ways of thinking.
THE MISSION
Design brings together the way we create, solve problems, experience the world, and imagine what comes next. What if a designer could spark an idea for an engineer? A maker could discover something in AI? A scientist could see their work from a completely new perspective?
Halifax Design Week creates space for those moments, bringing people, disciplines, and ideas together to explore what becomes possible when we look beyond our usual ways of thinking. It’s a place to discover something unexpected, share what you know, and leave imagining what you could create next.

Halifax has no shortage of people building, designing, and innovating: architects hosting exhibitions, startups showcasing new products, creatives working across every discipline. The problem isn’t a lack of talent or activity. It’s that it’s scattered.
